INKGuitar.io Mission
Ever since I picked up the guitar decades ago, I fell in love with the instrument. To me, it was the most fluid tool to express myself, and once I started writing songs and playing in bands, I never put it down. Wanting to create an original style of guitar in the ever-growing ocean of guitar companies, I chose to start InkGuitars.io
My vision for this project is to create one-of-a-kind, custom-built guitars that each have their own original story, are exceptional to play, and are also affordable for most guitarists. An important aspect of this endeavor is my commitment to sustainability. I strive to use recycled parts to reduce my environmental footprint, which includes building from abandoned guitar builds, factory rejects, and used components to give these parts a new lease on life.
Additionally, I have a goal of doing charitable work and helping to provide guitars to people around the world who do not have access to or the means to own a guitar.
This is the start of the Ink Guitars story. Follow me as I put my art and soul into the world, one Ink Guitar at a time…
 Creator/Artist
Aden Mackness is the owner and creator of Black Rooster Creative, an animation and design company based in California. His love for 3D art and guitars has led him to blend his two passions together to create one-of-a-kind guitars that mix 3D-printed art with custom-shaped guitars, resulting in what he has named the Inkcaster.
Over the decades, Aden has played music in original bands, giving him the opportunity to experience a wide range of guitars. From these experiences, he curated his favorite features and developed his own unique guitar design.
Currently, he is the Founder, Vocalist, and Guitarist for OC’s heavy-hitting band Sparrows Eat Crows and has been tearing up the stage with his Inkcasters.
The InkCaster 2.0
After years of builds and relentless experimentation, this is where it all led—the “Inkcaster 2.0.” I’m beyond proud of this beast. The next evolution sports a slightly wider neck for that perfect feel, a custom-shaped headstock, and bold block inlays. The body has been artfully reimagined, embracing a new shape for unparalleled comfort during seated play, yet maintaining its unmistakable, original silhouette—a true harmony of innovation and legacy.
Bloodcaster-Inkcaster 2.0
After years of builds and relentless experimentation, this is where it all led—the “Inkcaster 2.0.” I’m beyond proud of this beast. The final version sports a slightly wider neck for that perfect feel, a custom-shaped headstock, and bold block inlays. Loaded with an EMG 57TW and a push-pull for single-coil splitting, plus a TKO killswitch for when you need absolute control, this guitar is built to bring chaos. And like all my guitars, it comes with locking tuners to keep it in tune no matter how hard you smash it.
Sparrowcaster-Inkcaster 2.0
Built specifically for my band Sparrows Eat Crows, this guitar is a direct reflection of our artwork and branding. It’s my workhorse, the one I rely on for both live shows and recording. With an EMG 57TW and a push-pull for single-coil splitting, plus a TKO killswitch for all the stutter effects I need, this beast delivers everything. It’s super light but monstrous in tone, and plays smoother than anything I’ve touched. I’m damn proud to share this with the world.
Stonecaster-Inkcaster 2.0
Imagine harnessing the power of Medusa herself. This monstrous guitar doesn’t just play music; it dominates it. With an Active EMG 81 pickup and a TKO Killswitch, you’re armed for battle, ready to unleash an unholy, godly metal-crushing tone. This build, slightly heavier due to its body second origin, delivers a massive, wall-shaking sound. Don’t just play—dominate.
Scalecaster-Inkcaster 2.0
This beast of a guitar is my first build ready to sell to the public. It’s the culmination of years of relentless refinement, honed into a weapon of mass riffage. With a hand-aged, battle-worn look and the antique golden Ink dragon, it stands as both an instrument of raw power and a piece of art. Packed with the fearsome EMG 57TW and the TKO killswitch, this axe is engineered for shredding and crushing brutal tones. The push/pull option lets you switch from a twangy spank akin to a Telecaster to the bone-rattling, face-melting heaviness that EMG active pickups are renowned for.
Omegacaster-Inkcaster 2.1
This Inkcaster was my first commissioned customer build. The client explored all the variations of the Inkcaster before crafting his own unique vision. The result? A monster of a guitar, featuring the haunting silhouette of Medusa and her serpents, with the Omega symbol seamlessly woven into the design—an emblem of personal significance to him. Equipped with the hard-hitting EMG 81, this beast screams, and like every InkGuitar, it’s set up to play like an absolute dream.
The Shadowcaster
The creature from the otherside
Born from midnight ink and tuned to the deep hum of the abyss, Shadowcaster is a baritone built for riffs that live in the darker half of the spectrum. Its extended-scale neck lets you dive into subterranean tunings without flinching, while a pair of custom-wound Ink humbuckers summon tones that span from velvet-smooth cleans to tectonic growls.
Spinecaster
Behold the prototype that spawned the Shadowcaster bloodline—Ink Guitars’ first baritone weapon. Designed for our plunge into drop-B territory, the Spinecaster’s 27″ scale neck stays iron-tight while delivering enough low-end heft to crack concrete. Every contour was re-engineered to balance the extra length—from custom bridge anchors to a recalibrated body carve—so it still feels fast in the hands.
Anchoring the assault is an active EMG 57-TW at the bridge. A push-pull coil tap unleashes two distinct voices: razor-edged bite or a chest-caving, sub-frequency roar worthy of the guitar’s name. Strike a chord and you’ll feel it in your vertebrae.
Prototype? Absolutely. Yet even in this first incarnation, the Spinecaster hits like a finished weapon of mass riffage—built to cave skulls in while keeping every note locked in tune.
The basscaster
The Story of the Beast from Below
After refining the Inkcaster to its ultimate form, I wanted to push the boundaries even further—to take everything I’d mastered and unleash it in an original, aggressive bass design. That’s when the Basscaster was born. This beast combines the active EMG P-Bass pickup set with the unmistakable Inky styling to deliver something truly unique for bassists tired of the same old designs.
The Basscaster isn’t just for show—it’s built to rumble. Its tone will shake your spine right out of your body, but with all the clean, defined clank you need to cut through. With a twist of the tone knob, you can shift from silky smooth lows to face-smashing aggression—all with razor-sharp clarity.
Basscaster-Octobass
This is the Genesis incarnation of the Basscaster, built for the Sparrows Eat Crows bassist to dominate both live shows and studio sessions. Armed with roaring active EMG P-Bass pickups, this beast is a sonic weapon, delivering a thunderous punch whether clean or driven. Its tone cuts through with authority, filling any environment with power and presence. Proudly bearing the Ink Guitar Kraken, the Octobass is both beauty and beast—a masterpiece of design and destruction.
Basscaster-LycanBass
Forged from the bones of the Octobass itself, this beast of a bass is built for the subterranean.
With a design all its own, it thrives in impossibly low tunings that rumble through the earth and rattle the veil of reality. Armed with active EMG P-Bass pickups, this wolfish brute doesn’t just growl—it howls. Its tone sinks teeth into your eardrums and delivers a seismic punch that could buckle spines and blackout suns.
The Evolution of the InkCaster…
The InkCaster all started when I set out to merge my obsession with 3D resin printing and building DIY guitars. I wanted to create something that was not just a sick, one-of-a-kind piece of art but also something that would stand up to the punishment of live shows and studio time. After countless builds, tweaks, and experiments, I’ve finally nailed it—a guitar that’s insanely light, has an unforgettable look, and packs a sound that hits like a freight train. It plays smooth as hell, too.
This beast is loaded with my signature “Ink” style, a legacy that started with my “Ink Trinkets” jewelry and prop designs. Along the way, I’ve embraced the worn-in, relic look, giving each guitar a battle-hardened vibe. These aren’t just guitars for staring at—they’re meant to be smashed, shredded, and played hard. They’re built to be used, to withstand the chaos, and to sound just as brutal as they look.
I’m pumped to share this collection with you all.
If you’re into it and want your own InkCaster, hit me up, and let’s make it happen.
Inky
Inky was my first guitar build, starting with a DIY kit, and it’s where I first fused 3D printed art with the classic wood body of an LP-style guitar. The beast comes to life with a LED light set behind the Kraken, embedded in resin, that pulses as this monster shreds. It’s not just a guitar; it’s a piece of art that screams with power, adding a whole new dimension to every riff.
octocaster
This was the first ever fully 3D resin printed guitar build, and it’s a beast. Equipped with the active EMG T-SET pickup set, it’s got the heavy grunt of metal with the classic twang and spank of a Tele. It’s the perfect fusion of brutality and bite—built to rip through riffs and bring that sharp edge to every note.
crowcaster
This beast is the next level after the Octocaster, built to bring the heavy. I swapped in a beastly EMG 81/85 active pickup set for that extra punch, and added a Tesi kill switch to get all those brutal stutter effects dialed in. This thing is as heavy as it sounds, ready to throw down with riffs that hit like a sledgehammer. Pure aggression, pure power.
Snakecaster-Inkcaster 1.0
With Medusa on the pickguard, this guitar was built for chugging those beefy riffs that’ll rattle your bones. I kept it stripped down and to the point—just a single Active EMG 81 pickup and a TKO Killswitch to keep things gnarly. The pickguard and control plate are coated with a glow-in-the-dark finish, so when the lights go out, this beast is still ready to tear it up. No gimmicks, all metal!
Shocaster-Inkcaster 1.0
Styled like a weapon forged for sonic destruction, this guitar is pure Shogun steel. Armed with a double humbucker configuration, it features an EMG 81TW in the bridge with a push-pull for single-coil precision. From razor-sharp twang to crushing metal brutality, this axe is built to unleash a barrage of tones that hit hard and cut deep. Perfect for heavy riffs, soaring solos, and everything in between.
Skelecaster-inkcaster 1.5
Born from the ashes of an abandoned build, this resurrected beast is now a monster of a guitar. I took the original body and reworked it, modifying the shape for more comfort whether you’re ripping it up sitting or standing, while keeping its raw, original edge intact. Loaded with the iconic metal EMG 81 pickup, this axe delivers a thunderous roar as you tear up and down the fretboard. It’s a second chance turned into pure chaos and power.
Beastcaster-Inkcaster 1.5
This beast was born from experimentation, built off a blemised finished body with a fresh take on my usual control plate setup. She’s got a bit more weight to her, giving her a solid, commanding presence. Loaded with an EMG 57TW in the bridge—complete with push-pull for razor-sharp single-coil tones, this guitar delivers a killer mix of precision and power. She featured in my band’s epic music video for Red Tide Rising.  A true weapon of tone and style.
The Ink Process

3d design and printing
The Inkcaster parts are designed and sculpted in ZBrush. Once completed, they are printed and cured in 3D resin.

Shaping The Body
The body is shaped and meticulously crafted to its unique form, and the parts are prepared for staining and finishing.

Giving it the Ink Finish
In the process of carefully staining and hand-relicing the neck and body, the beast truly becomes a one-of-a-kind original guitar.

Bring The beast to life
The Inkcaster is now fully assembled and wired, and with the deadly EMG active pickups Killswitch, it comes to life.

Sharpen It's Claws
The final step is to adjust the neck, intonate, and level the frets to set up the Inkcaster for the low, smooth-playing weapon it is. Now, it's ready to shred.
Want a InkGuitar? Let's Talk
Every Ink Guitar is a one-of-a-kind creation, built by a guitarist and artist who lives for raw, unapologetic sound.
Each guitar tells its own story, crafted with passion and designed to be as unique as the players who wield them. I shape, create, assemble, and fine-tune every piece to deliver a guitar that plays the way I want it—low, smooth, and deadly.
I’m not here to claim the title of master luthier. I’m a guitarist crafting weapons of mass riffage in my signature Inky style—designed to dominate on stage, in the studio, or wherever the music calls.
